Alpha is a second year master student in the Forensic Psychology Program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She received a BS in Psychology and Sociology from Fordham University in 2010. She is currently a research assistant on the Correctional Incident Database of Collective Violence, Homicides, Hate Crimes and Escapes project, led by Dr. Mellow and a member of the Stress and Resiliency lab, focusing on projects related to suicide, led by Dr. Jeglic. She hopes to apply to a doctoral program in Clinical Psychology after she graduates. Her research interests include assessing chronic mental illness and disparities in access to mental health treatment especially for children and underprivileged minorities.
