Margaret Leland Smith
Margaret Leland Smith is a quantitative criminologist at the Institute for Criminal Justice Ethics at John Jay College. Her ongoing major projects include the analysis of the causes and context of the sexual abuse of minors by Catholic priests; modeling the agentic development of character, and contributing to the expansion of information about resources for re-entry in Newark and throughout New Jersey. She recently worked with the National Police and Attorney General's office in the Dominican Republic on the classification of crimes and a national crime data reporting system. Ms. Smith currently teaches correctional ethics and quantitative courses at John Jay College.
